Unique and Novel Accelerators for Epoxy Anhydride Reactions from Broadview Technologies

These products aid anhydrides in epoxy systems, speeding the process of epoxy curing in filament winding, pultrusion, and potting and encapsulation. In today’s article, we’re highlighting our more popular and high-performance accelerators!
BV-7
BV-7 is a unique liquid quat salt that enables fast and even curing. It can be pre-mixed into liquid anhydrides and stored for a long time with no pressure build-up in the containers. BV-7 also gives higher Tgs by 5-10 C compared to tertiary amines such as BDMA. It also rapidly achieves complete cure, making it ideally suited for pultrusion and filament winding systems, as well as pressure gelation and molded parts. An additional benefit is long room temperature latency. BV-7 allows constant viscosity through entire shifts on the production floor.
AC-PI
AC-PI. AC-PI is a fast-acting liquid imidazole that does not crystalize at room temperature. It offers a fast full cure, often eliminating any post-cure heating cycles. This makes it ideally suited for continuous production lines, whether for pultrusion or filament winding. It also provides a more even broad exotherm profile compared to other imidazoles, which makes thicker-walled tubes or pultruded parts easier to produce without internal cracking.
AC-8
AC-8 is a unique liquid phosphonium salt that enables fast cures with extremely long latency. It also does not cause yellowing of epoxy anhydride systems, and near water-white castings are easily achieved even when rapidly curing at high temperatures. AC-8 is ideal for trickle impregnation, VPI systems, and LED production. It is also a good choice for epoxy anhydride powder coatings.
BV-7FC
BV-7FC is our fastest curing accelerator. It can cure epoxy anhydride systems at below 100 C. It can also help speed pultrusion lines and continuous filament winding and braiding lines. When you are looking for fast oven curing cycles or faster line speed, BV-7FC is the best choice.
